Earlier today I saw a tweet pass by about Angkor Wat.
It reminded me of our honeymoon to Thailand and Cambodia. Strolling around Angkor Wat was a special experience, but because the site is so huge at a certain point your mind becomes saturated with the ruins of all the temples and buildings and some of the time your brain just switches to auto pilot.
Just like in normal day to day life. Things you see or do often become automated.
But just as my brain was getting comfortable in automatic mode, we turned around a corner and there was this delightful multi armed statue of a deity in a bright orange robe under a bright orange parasol. This delightful colourful surprise shook my brain right back in to active mode.
Life is like that too, just as you think it’s all the same over again, you turn around a corner and are pleasantly surprised. I sometimes forget to turn around a different corner every now and then. That tweet about Angkor Wat reminded me that there are delightful surprises waiting to be discovered, if only you just turn around a different corner every now and then.
While “Destination: Bangkok!” is in Apple’s good hands for review, have a look at my other ebooks for iPad.
